The biggest attraction to Katherine is of course the Gorge. It offers 3 different boat cruises, canoeing, and lots of walking trails. Helicopter flights over the gorge are great, and there are 2 different companies who offer these.

Katherine Hot Springs
Located 3 kilometres from the town centre on the banks of the Katherine River. This shady, spring fed, thermal creek is an ideal swimming area.

Katherine Low Level Nature Reserve
Located 5 kilometres from town. It features open shady parkland and easy access to the river. Ideal for swimming and fishing.

Katherine Museum
The museum houses interesting displays on the pastoral, World War II, communications and early history of the town and the region. The most notable exhibit is the original Gypsy Moth that was flown by Dr Clyde Fenton, the first flying doctor.

Other places of interest include: NT Rare Rocks, Knott's Crossing, The Overland Telegraph Pylons, The Railway Museum, School of the Air, Springvale Homestead.

Katherine has 3 cinemas, Lawn Bowls, Golf Course, Art and Craft Galleries, Horse riding and the town Swimming Pool.

Dining Out Katherine has a good range of eating out venues. Meals are served in or outdoors, and the RSL club has a courtesy bus.

Cutta Cutta Caves Located 30 kilometres from the Park, Cutta Cutta Caves formed 500 million years ago and is still growing today. The limestone cave formations are about 15 metres below the earth's surface and are home to the rare Orange Horseshoe and Ghost Bats.

Edith Falls
A nice days' outing, 70 kilometres from our Park. Edith Falls consist of a series of falls on the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment that run all year round. The main fall runs into Sweetwater Pool, fringed by pandanus trees. A loop walk takes visitors to the top of the falls.
